"Over the past two weeks we've really heard chatter linking the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. Most recently we've heard that the Bengals would be willing to figure out a way to eat some of Dalton's contract for the Bears but it seems the two sides might have figured out a different solution. According to Dave-Te Thomas, while speaking to former CNN Sports anchor Paul Crane, he revealed on the "Scout's Honor" podcast that the Bengals have granted the Bears permission to speak to Andy Dalton. This would give Bears' general manager Ryan Pace the opportunity to try and convince Dalton to re-work his contract and turn some of his salary into bonus to lower his cap hit. This doesn't mean that is dealing is going to get done, but it would mean that Pace is trying to find the groundwork to get one done.
