The Chicago Bears have officially acquired DJ Moore in a trade with the Carolina Panthers ahead of free agency. The trade saw the Bears send the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft to the Panthers in exchange for two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and Moore.
Moore, who is now the Bears' No. 1 wide receiver, was recently seen bonding with quarterback Justin Fields and fellow wideouts Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool at a Bulls game. The Bears' passing game was the worst in the NFL last season, but with Fields' potential as a passer and the addition of Moore, Mooney, Claypool, and tight end Cole Kmet, the expectation is that things will improve in 2023.
General manager Ryan Poles now needs to focus on protecting Fields up front. The Bears have made one move along the offensive line in free agency, signing guard Nate Davis. However, it's expected that the offensive line will be a priority for the Bears in the upcoming draft, where they have the No. 9 pick.
