The Chicago Bears wide receiver position took several hits on the injury front over the past week. One of the toughest to watch was N'Keal Harry.

Indeed, Harry's fresh start in Chicago is on pause following an ankle injury.

NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported Thursday that Harry is undergoing tightrope surgery this morning after suffering a high-ankle sprain.

This surgery is expected to knock Harry out for around eight weeks or so, Garafolo added.

Harry suffered the ankle injury over the weekend, leaving Saturday's practice early.

Aaron Lemming reported a very interesting aspect of the situation we have here.

If the Bears want to keep Harry around without losing him for the year, they'll have to carry him through the first finalizing of the roster before they can place him on injured reserve.

This means that the chances of him being cut before the season are very high...

Harry was traded to the Bears from the New England Patriots in mid-July. He's entering the final season of his rookie contract after being selected by the Pats in the first round of the 2019 draft.

The 24-year-old Arizona State product didn't live up to expectations in New England. He finished his tenure with just 57 catches for 598 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons.
