It is subjective to determine the 3 best Chicago athletes of all time, as many talented and accomplished athletes have played for Chicago teams over the years. However, some of the most notable and accomplished athletes in Chicago sports history include:

Michael Jordan: Considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time, Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships and won five MVP awards during his career.

Walter Payton: Known as "Sweetness," Payton is widely considered one of the best running backs in NFL history. He spent his entire 13-year career with the Chicago Bears, setting numerous records and winning one Super Bowl.

Ernie Banks: Known as "Mr. Cub," Banks was a shortstop and first baseman for the Chicago Cubs for 19 seasons, and was known for his positive attitude and love for the game. He was a two-time National League MVP and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1977.
