The Bears' old regime was ecstatic when they came out of the draft with two really solid offensive tackles in Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom. Both of these guys showed good things during their rookie season. However, s=they also showed us that there is still a lot of work to be done.

Here is what GM Ryan Poles said on the subject:

«They're working hard. They're improving. They're taking coaching, so that is obviously a positive. If you are an o-line guy like I am, you know that we're not going to be able to tell much about these offensive linemen until we put pads on.

So I love the work they're putting in. They're doing everything right. they're adapting to the new scheme. They're changing their bodies. everything that they're supposed to. But listen, we all know up front when the pads come on, that's when we really see what's going on.»

I actually like the part when he said that they're changing their bodies. He means that they are most likely gaining muscle while losing fat.

Jenkins was listed at 6"5, 317 pounds while Borom is listed at 6"4 332 pounds.

If they are able to get stronger and still lose a little weight, this would be the ideal scenario for what we hope to be our two tackles of the future!
