The Chicago Bears rookies embarked on their first professional practices this weekend, yet one prominent newcomer will be absent. During a media session on Friday, Head Coach Matt Eberflus revealed that third-round draft pick, offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie, will not participate in the minicamp or the upcoming spring practices due to an ongoing recovery.

Amegadjie, a Yale alum, is recuperating from a quad injury sustained during the 2023 collegiate season. Despite this setback, Eberflus expressed confidence in Amegadjie's recovery timeline, aiming for his full participation by the start of training camp.

Selected 75th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Amegadjie had a standout career at Yale and is poised to assume a key role as the team's swing tackle. A native of Hinsdale, just outside Chicago, playing for the Bears represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Amegadjie.

While Amegadjie will not be physically present on the field, he remains engaged in the team activities and continues his learning process alongside his fellow rookies. The rest of the Bears' draft class, including quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze, made their professional debut on the field this Friday and Saturday.
