Kordell played college at Colorado where he gained recognition as the Miracle at Michigan when he completed a hail mary to beat Michigan in 1994. He was drafted by the Steelers in 1995, Kordell didn't get to start until 1997 going 11-5. He led the Steelers to an AFC top seed and conference championship in 2001, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Year.
