Well-respected ESPN analyst throws a BOLD prediction for Jaquan Brisker
Rookie safety Jaquan Brisker has never felt uncomfortable since becoming a Bear. The second-round draft pick has embraced the expectation of being a Week 1 starter ever since he stepped foot in Hallas Hall. He has had no trepidation about the adjustment to the NFL level and he was clearly unfazed by a brief holdout before the start of training camp.
However, his training camp and preseason were cut short due to a thumb injury. While this is never nice to her, Brisker should be good to go for Sunday's game.
With that being said, ESPN analyst Matt Bowen made a bold prediction on his subject. Here it is:
Bold prediction for 2022: Safety Jaquan Brisker will lead all rookies in interceptions.
In Eberflus' system, Brisker can play top down on the ball and create disruption in the middle of the field. The second-round pick out of Penn State brings a playmaking element to Chicago. -- Bowen
I like to hear that. I think Brisker could be such a great player in this league. He showed in what little preseason action he saw that he can make a lot of impactful plays. While I'm not entirely sure that his role inside Matt Eberflus' scheme will allow him to lead to all rookies in interceptions, I think this is simply a testament to his immense talent.
