Ahead of the Bears loss to the Browns this past weekend, iconic sports writer Peter King spoke about the possibility of the Bears passing on drafting a QB in 2024, and instead decide to trade that pick:
As heard, King feels like drafting a new QB and trading away Justin Fields will not fix the problems in Chicago, as this team has many more struggles to focus on.
Fields has struggled, we know that, but he also proved to us that he can be an elite QB in the NFL. He has star quality, but he has been unable to show all of it due to his sloppy O-line, receivers dropping his passes, and awful play calling by his coaches.
If Fields struggles over the next few games, then King agrees on drafting a QB, but if he proves that he is a good player, then King believes that the Bears should trade their draft pick and build around Fields.
