This Bears draft pick was a freak!

The Bears' 2015 first-rounder Kevin White will go down as one of the biggest draft busts in Bears history. He was selected 7th overall and was never a factor for the offense, only starting 5 games in Chicago before being signed by San Francisco. But why was the receiver selected so high?
White came out of nowhere in his senior season at West Virginia. He gained national attention after a 1447 yard season and caught 10 touchdowns. But the scouting combine is where he made his money. He ran an electric 4.35-second 40-yard dash and put up 23 reps on the bench press. White seemed to have all the tools. He was 6 foot 3 and weighed in at 215 lbs. His imposing frame would give him a massive advantage to make contested catches and he could outrun every defender. How he didn't work out in the NFL remains a mystery. He was on the Saints roster in 2021 and only caught one pass.
