The Bears will have a surprising player starting at Center vs the 49ers
On the @mullyhaugh show, @BradBiggs just reported that Lucas Patrick hasn't snapped the ball at all in practice due to his surgically repaired right thumb, so he expects Sam Mustipher to start at center, and he has a hunch the #Bears keep Teven Jenkins at right guard this Sunday.
Mustipher started all three preseason games at center, with Lucas Patrick out with a broken thumb. However, pretty much all week long, the expectations were that Patrick would ultimately end up starting at center.
I am very surprised to see that and frankly a little concerned. Mustiphier has not shown so far in his career that he is able to hold up in the middle of the offensive line. While he is a very capable backup and an extremely intelligent player, I have major concerns about his physicality and his ability to be a presence in the run game.
I truly hope to be proved wrong on Sunday, though!
