QB Justin Fields' number of hits taken in the pre-season game is quite alarming...
One of the most important parts of pre-season football is to make sure that no players get injured during playing time. Of course, you would like for your players to play well, but the main aspect is to keep everyone healthy.
It looks like the Bears had trouble protecting their most important player in QB Justin Fields during the early part of the game against the Chiefs.
Indeed, Justin Fields took three hits on the first seven plays from scrimmage, including a cheap shot as he was sliding. The cheap hit was coming from Juan Thornhill... I can't figure out why that wasn't a personal foul penalty. It was really unnecessary, especially in a pre-season game. Fields had already started to slide and Thornhill still laid him out.
I truly hope this is not a sign for things to come because we need to make sure that Fields is protected at all costs!
Here is the live reaction from our writer William Jackson to the cheap shot...
