Matt Nagy Explains What Makes David Montgomery So Special.

The Chicago Bears have a totally revamped running back position for head coach Matt Nagy and he loves it. Of course one of the biggest new pieces is rookie David Montgomery who the Bears drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. «Well, the thing with David is, and these rookies that we brought in here, they're very focused in the meetings,» coach Matt Nagy said. «They're very detailed. And David's personality is he's introverted. He's quiet. But he's so driven, and you can just see how competitive he is, and he wants to be perfect on every single play. So he's going to practice the way he plays, and he's making plays.»
The thing that pushed Jordan Howard to the sideline last year was his hand's and it doesn't sound like that will be a problem for Montgomery. "We always knew he had great hands," Nagy said. "You don't know how great of a route runner a college back is, but he's a really good route runner."
The one battle that might be more entertaining than the one at the kicker position is the one at running back.
