Former Bears Tight End Defends QB Jameis Winston over Controversial Game-Ending Play
He did not hold back!
The Saints played against the Falcons this past weeekend to end off the regular season, and after blowing out the Falcons, the Saints took out starting QB Derek Carr.
The Saints then put backup QB Jameis Winston in the game to kneel the ball, but Winston had other plans.
Winston decided to call a play instead, which ended up resulting in a Saints touchdown with only one minute to go in a blowout lead:
This decision has since caused a ton of drama, but Winston's teammate and former Bears TE Jimmy Graham took to Twitter to defend this action:
As seen in the tweet, Graham wrote:
"Get off @Jaboowins back. This man is the best teammate I've ever had. Loves this city, this game and embodies everything you can ask for in a leader. Was a rare situation and we all take responsibility. Nobody thought it would get blown out of proportion. Also f*ck the falcons"
