Confirmed: Colts' Isaiah Rodgers is being Investigated
As stated in an earlier article, a Colts player was being investigated for possible illegal gambling. There were speculation about who it was, and it is now confirmed. Colts CB, Isaiah Rodgers, is being Investigated.
Reported from ESPN, there have multiple sources confirming that Rodgers is the player being investigated. According to ESPN:
"The sportsbook account was opened under the name of an associate of Rodgers, the sources said. Approximately 100 bets were placed on the account over an undisclosed amount of time, including on Colts games, the sources said."
Rodgers was drafted in the 6th round of the 2020 draft. He has a total of 89 tackles with 3 interceptions.
The NFL prohibits any form of gambling in the league. Once the investigation is over, and if he is guilty, Rodgers could be facing a long suspension, and possibly his job. He is not a top player for the team and his name is bringing in controversy, so the Colts may decide to cut him, if needed.
Last season, former Falcons WR Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entire season due to betting, and was then traded. The NFL takes betting very seriously, so if he ends up being guilty, it will affect his career.
