This Team Can Land Dalvin Cook...
All offseason, it seemed like Dalvin Cook would be traded before June, but clearly he is still a Viking. They just signed backup RB Alexander Mattison to a big deal, which is unusual for a backup. He signed a 2-year, $7 million contract, which sounds a tad too expensive when there is another RB who needs to get paid.
It seems like the Vikings are ready to move on from Cook, as he is nearing 28 (which is considered "old" for RBs), and are currently paying him too much money. Releasing him brings on a fresh start for Minnesota, and also brings in more money. Cook is one of the best in the game, but sometimes franchises need to let go of their top performer, because they no longer work well together.
According to SI.com, a trade to Miami almost happened:
"Minnesota and Miami came very close to a trade that would've made Cook a Dolphin back in March."

The deal fell apart, but that does not mean that Cook will not end up there.
If Cook is released, Miami may be his first choice. He was born there, and the Dolphins have an exciting future ahead of them. Stars like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Tua Tagovailoa are guys you want to play with. Adding Cook to this mix can make Miami the strongest offense in the NFL, and a place that Cook can truly shine.
What do you think?
