BREAKING: The 49ers have Traded Trey Lance

As reported by insider Ian Rapoport, the 49ers are trading QB Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys:

Lance was the 3rd overall pick in the 2021 draft. The 49ers drafted him in hopes of Lance becoming their franchise QB.

In 8 games with the team and 4 starts, Lance has a record of 2-2, 797 passing yards, and 5 passing TDs.

Injuries have played a factor in Lance's career, and it looks like the 49ers are ready to say goodbye to him.

The Cowboys are trading a 4th round pick in exchange for Lance, and Lance will most likely be playing backup to Dak Prescott.
