There seemed to be a mutual interest between the Bears and former kicker Robbie Gould, however it was more complicated than it seemed. As much as Gould was hinting publicly that he wanted to return to Chicago, it was his current team the San Francisco 49ers that held the power and they just used it. According to Adam Schefter, the 49ers have placed the franchise tag on kicker Robbie Gould becoming the first team to use their tag this year. The Robbie Gould reunion is likely dead in the water.
