As reported by Bears insider Josh Schrock, Bears standout backup QB Tyson Bagent spoke to him about potentially winning the QB2 job, as tweeted by Shrock:
As stated in the tweet, Bagent said:

"As a quarterback, I really just would like them to know... I would really just like to make them as comfortable as possible with the thought of me in the game. Just really have them understand that any play that needs to be run, I at least know how to run it. Every play's not going to be perfect, but I know how to run every play in the playbook. That's where I'm at, kind of working tirelessly. I know opportunities will present themselves. I try to be as ready as I am for those opportunities"
It looks Bagnet is feeling confident with his role, and is eager to show his team that he can get the job done. He knows he is not competing for the number 1 spot, but he accepts his role as a backup, and instead of being QB3, he wants to be the QB2.
Bagent played college ball with the Division II school; the Shepherd Rams. During his time there, he was named as the starting QB in his freshman year, and was selected as to the first team All-Mountain East Conference. Then in 2021, he was named as the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Year and won the Harlon Hill Trophy. Then, in his senior year, Bagent broke the record for touchdown passes across all NCAA divisions with 159 TDs.
In the 2023 draft, Bagent went undrafted, even after a stellar college career. He then signed with the Chicago Bears and has since been competing for the number 2 spot.
After an amazing preseason game, where he went 9/10 on passing, and even scored his first rushing TD, fans were raving about him, and now, he may be the Bears new QB2.
