The Bears are expected to cut veteran linebacker Danny Trevathan soon per Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune. This move would save over $3.2 million. If they do keep him on the roster, his cap hit would be $5.7 million. It is clear that Chicago is in a quick reload situation with the recent departure of Khalil Mack.
Unfortunately, Trevethan has not been able to stay available and healthy for the past couple of years. He missed 19 games in the last 3 years. While he was still a decent player on the field, it's pretty clear his best days are behind him.
