Bears apparently have a new free-agent receiver on their radar
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN says that the Bears are now taking a look at Pittsburgh Steeler Juju Smith-Schuster in free agency. With all the recent moves at receiver and most top-tier options off the board, Poles is apparently interested in the 25-year-old.
Juju was very good his first two seasons entering the league but slowed down when Antonio Brown left. The former Pro Bowl missed the majority of the 2021 season after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in October.
If I was GM of the Bears, I would try to avoid most free-agent receivers. Christian Kirk and DJ Chark are worth taking a look at but not worth overpaying. I would focus on improving the offensive line since the free-agent class has a couple of intriguing options. I would focus on receivers in the draft since it is easier to find contributors in later rounds and the 2022 receiving class looks deep with talent.
