Khalil Herbert talks about the 2022 Bears' team

Rookie running back Khalil Herbert sat down on the under center podcast yesterday. He talked about the new coaching staff and about his quarterback Justin Fields as well.

When he was asked what was his reaction after meeting the new Bears' head coach Matt Eberflus, Herbert responded immediately: "I like the energy he brings. He's gonna have us running a lot." This reaction is definitely on-par with everything we have been hearing from Eberflus. He seems like a very intense individual that expects nothing but hard work from everyone around him.

Next, Herbert was asked what will be the repercussions of the intense training, running and practicing regiment. Here was his answer:

"It will allow us to play faster. We will be able to upgrade the tempo. We won't be tired if the game goes to overtime."


When the subject of his new running back coach, David Walker, arrived, Herbert immediately replied: "Everyone has nothing but high praise about him. I'm excited to meet him and start learning."

Finally, Herbert was asked about his quarterback Justin Fields. Khalil smiled and responded "He had more swagger towards the end of the season. He is a natural-born leader. He's willing to put his body on the line for the team and everyone respects that. "
