Will Lance Briggs make the Hall of Fame?
The Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2022 has been announced a few days ago. One name that was not there and some people were shocked is former Chicago Bears' linebacker Lance Briggs.
He played his entire 12-year NFL career in Chicago from 2003 to 2014.
Let's look at his regular season stats during his career:
-7 Pro Bowls-170 starts in 173 games-1181 tackles-97 Tackles for loss-15 sacks-16 interceptions-18 forced fumbles.-6 career touchdowns
Briggs also received a bunch of achievements including 7 pro bowls and 2 all-pro selections.
Lance was, unfortunately for him, in the shadow of all-time great Brian Urlacher for most of his career. Briggs was still a very dominant defender for all of his career. The role he played was so crucial. Even if his chances of getting in are pretty slim since he didn't make it very far in the process for both years he was eligible, I think he has a strong case and could, in my opinion, get in. He had an impact that went beyond the stats sheet or the achievements.
