Congratulations to this former Bears' player for the Super Bowl win
The Chicago Bears selected Leonard Floyd in the first round with the ninth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was a pretty solid player for 4 seasons in Chicago. Floyd signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 and has now played two seasons with them. Unfortunately for the Bears, he is playing way better now than he was during his time in Chicago. He actually has more sacks in two seasons with the Rams (20) than he had in four with the Bears (18.5)
Floyd was asked during a Super Bowl interview about his time in Chicago. He said: «I have no regrets about Chicago. I'm all L.A. now, and I'm all about the future." He then paused and said: "Thank you Chicago."
The 6"5 linebacker signed a four-year, $64 million extension in the offseason.
Although the Bears clearly did not do a good enough job to develop and utilize his full potential, it is still good to see such a great individual win a Super Bowl. Bears nation is still proud of you Leonard.
