This Chicago Bear needs to be cut
Danny Trevethan has been on the Bears roster for 6 years now. He has turned out to be an excellent free-agent pick-up for the former Bears GM, Ryan Pace.
Unfortunately, Trevethan has not been able to stay available and healthy for the past couple of years. In fact, he missed 19 games in the last 3 years. While he was still a decent player on the field, it's pretty clear his best days are behind him. He will turn 32 years old in a few weeks.
By cutting the veteran, the Bears would save over $3.2 million dollars. If they do keep him on the roster, his cap hit would be $5.7 million.
The Bears have to cut ties with him and start to develop the younger guys from now on. While the Bears fans will miss him for sure, the obvious move is to start building in the draft for the search of young linebacker talent.
