Tee Higgins Reveals Message He Received From Damar Hamlin's Mom After Backlash (VIDEO)
Following the news that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin woke up on Wednesday night and that his "neurologic function is intact," Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, whom Hamlin tackled before going into cardiac arrest on "Monday Night Football, is in a much better place internally after the tragic on-field incident. Especially after speaking with Hamlin's mother.
"It was just telling me she's thinking of me, praying for me and things like that, telling me he's OK, all the good, positive stuff," said Higgins, who added that knowing Hamlin is improving is making him feel good inside.
Higgins, who went to Clemson, played against the Bills safety in college while Hamlin attended Pitt. The two also spent time together at Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd's annual football camp in Pittsburgh, where Boyd and Hamlin are from.
"It was hard," Higgins said about the incident. "Obviously wasn't in a place to play the rest of that game, so I'm kind of glad we didn't return to play."
