Should Ryan Poles trade back in the 2022 draft?
One of the first orders of business for Ryan Poles is obtaining draft capital. So, the question that follows is worth asking. Should Ryan Poles trade back in the 2022 draft? The Bears currently have very few draft picks this year. Here is the list of their choices in the 2022 NFL draft.
-SECOND ROUND - NO. 39 OVERALL-THIRD ROUND - NO. 71 OVERALL-FIFTH ROUND - NO. 147 OVERALL (VIA HOUSTON)-FIFTH ROUND - NO. 149 OVERALL-SIXTH ROUND - NO. 184 OVERALL
Poles could be tempted to potentially move his wack back in the draft in order to get a least an additional pick in exchange. Let's say the Bears are not totally sold on a player when they are on the clock at the 39th pick, they should at least listen to other calls.
I think it is very important to draft with the "best player available" mindset. This means that you should not reach based upon needs. However, if you don't see great value at your pick, you need to trade back, especially when you have so little draft capital. While the Bears are not in a total rebuild, they still need to get younger and to upgrade their roster via the draft.
I am very excited to see what our first-year GM, Ryan Poles can do in his first draft as the chief executive officer.
