Roquan Smith opens up about losing Khalil Mack
More than two months ago now, the Bears shocked the world by trading away their best player Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a 2nd round pick and a 6th rounder.
While it was a crunching blow to all of Bears Nation, pretty much all of us agreed that it was time to move on and that GM Ryan Poles did a good job getting solid picks in return. Let me also add that the Chargers elected to take on Mack's full contract so this is why they gave up a 2nd rounder instead of a first-round selection.
It's a guarantee that losing Khalil Mack will be a tough pill to swallow for everyone in the Bears organization. Here is what LB Roquan Smith had to say about his teammates whom he played with for 4 years:
«Hey, it sucks seeing one of your guys go, one of the leaders,» the linebacker said Wednesday.
«But hey, life goes on. I know he's gonna do well out there in L.A. You know, a healthy Mack is a damn good player, as we all know.»«I got a lot of respect for him,» Smith said. «I learned a lot from him. I appreciate him.»
He is right. #52 will be missed!
