While everybody is focused on the Chicago Bears QB situation, it seems Bears' management is more focused on the tight end situation. The good news is that they're expected to target one of the premier free agents. According to Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears will try to land Austin Hooper during free agency. The Falcons have made it clear they will let their tight end test franchise and won't use the franchise tag on Hooper. Head coach Matt Nagy also made it clear that the Bears will make a move regarding tight end. "This offense - a lot of it goes through the tight end," Bears head coach Matt Nagy said. "We're exploring every avenue."
There's some bad news if the Bears were to release Trey Burton as he would carry a dead cap hit of $7.5million.
