Potential Bomb Cyclone' Set To Hit Chicago During Bills-Bears Game
According to the National Weather Service, there's a good chance the «windy city» name will live up to the hype. Indeed, per their early-week forecast, the Chicago area expects exceptionally harsh winter conditions in the coming days.
«Blizzard conditions» could drop six inches of snow from Thursday to Friday. Remember that the kickoff is slated for Saturday at 1 p.m on Christmas eve.
Additionally, even if Soldier Field escapes the worst of the anticipated snowfall, early reports indicate that the game will be played in single-digit temperatures.
This is not something unusual for both teams. Indeed, just this past weekend, the Bills hosted the Miami Dolphins in Orchard Park in a game many anticipated would turn into a snow game. They largely avoided that fate as the seats were full of snow (leading to an in-game pause while the referees reprimanded fans and threatened penalties for the home team if snowballs were thrown onto the field). Still, the playing surface was primarily clear until later in the 4th quarter when the snow started to pour in.
