Philadelphia Eagles Fans Engage in Boisterous Demonstration Following Super Bowl Defeat
Everyone knew that things could get out of hand in Philadelphia tonight following Super Bowl 57, regardless of the outcome.
So when the Eagles fell victim to a controversial defensive holding penalty that sealed their 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in the big game at State Farm Stadium, the city's police immediately braced for the worst. Footage has emerged from the streets of Philadelphia following the game, and the police were out in full force in an effort to keep the peace. However, it doesn't appear as though they've been entirely successful thus far, as an «active citywide riot» has been declared in the city.
According to the report, there has been a stabbing. There have also been reports of angry fans throwing bottles at police officers, resulting in smoke bombs being used in some areas to disperse the crown.
Videos have emerged from the scene. Here's how things are looking in Philadelphia tonight.
