Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Out for Super Bowl 57, Placed on Injured Reserve.
A significant setback has befallen Mecole Hardman, the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, as he will miss the opportunity to participate in the highly anticipated Super Bowl. This news comes as a disappointment, especially since the Super Bowl is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Hardman had been listed as doubtful for this weekend's Super Bowl after sustaining a pelvis injury during the recent AFC Championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite the possibility of a recovery in the following days, Hardman was unable to participate in any practices this week.
The team officially declared his absence from the game by placing him on injured reserve on Monday, effectively ending his season. This injury follows a pattern of setbacks for Hardman, who missed the final nine games of the regular season and the Chiefs' Divisional Round match against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In the 2022 season, Hardman recorded 25 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns, with an average of 11.9 yards per catch.
The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57 on Sunday, February 12th.
