Justin Fields Shares Thoughts on Tough Bears Defeat.
The Chicago Bears' season opener against the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 NFL season was far from the ideal start, as they suffered a crushing 38-20 defeat. Justin Fields, the team's leading quarterback, didn't mince words about the disappointing performance post-game.
"The outcome is disheartening, especially given it's a rivalry game against the Packers. Everyone's spirits are down. This loss stings, and I can't deny it. I owe an apology to my teammates and our fans who were behind us. But we're determined to turn things around," Fields commented, as reported by Pro Football Talk.
Fields had a challenging day on the field, completing 24 out of 37 passes for 216 yards, recording one touchdown and an interception. Additionally, he was sacked four times, which resulted in a loss of 27 yards, disrupting several potential scoring drives.
The Bears aim to recover from this setback in their upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who recently celebrated a victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The goal? To evade starting the season 0-2.
