Jets finalizing a contract with former Packers' WR!

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Jets are reportedly working on a deal with wide receiver Allen Lazard. This news comes after Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner hinted at the possibility of package deals if the team were to acquire quarterback Aaron Rodgers, although Rodgers' plans for 2023 remain unknown.

Lazard has played alongside Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers since 2018, and Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett coached both players from 2019 to 2021. While another team is also reportedly interested in signing Lazard, it is possible that the Jets' interest in him is tied to the potential acquisition of Rodgers.

Although Rodgers has not made any public statements regarding his future plans, it is possible that he has discussed the possibility of playing with Lazard again in private conversations. While nothing is set in stone at this point, it appears that the Jets are actively pursuing options to build a strong team around their potential new quarterback.
