J.C Jackson has a new home
Ian Rapoport reports that the LA Chargers are expected to sign cornerback J.C Jackson.
The deal is a 5-year, $82.5 million that invoices a $40 million guaranteed. That is huge money for the cornerback. This checks in as the NFL's sixth-highest cornerback pact.
Jackson is 26 and signed as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in 2018. He is coming off a 2021-2022 season in which he earned his first Pro Bowl selection, also recorded a career-high 58 tackles and had an NFL-best 23 passes defended. J.C added eight interceptions, giving him 17 over the past two seasons and 25 in his four-year career. We knew the chances were slim to land him in Chicago because of his high value.
He will now join former Bear Khalil Mack on the Chargers' defense.
