Former Packers Linebacker Confirms Aaron Rodgers' New Team, Davante Adams Adds His Input
After recent reports indicating that Aaron Rodgers has limited his potential new teams to either the Las Vegas Raiders or the New York Jets, it is still uncertain which club will secure the future Hall of Famer. Sam Barrington, a former NFL linebacker who played briefly for the Green Bay Packers from 2013 to 2015, might have insider information.
It appears that Barrington has trustworthy sources, as he tweeted on Saturday night that a move to the Raiders by Rodgers is a done deal. He wrote, "Just spoke with a friend who is very attuned to the Packers/Aaron Rodgers situation. Aaron will be a Raider in 2023."
Although this report should be taken with caution, it is not uncommon for unexpected sources to break significant sports stories, especially in regards to trades and free agency.
There is no doubt that Rodgers would be a suitable addition to the Raiders, where he would reunite with his former Packers teammate, the star receiver Davante Adams. Adams even liked Barrington's tweet and commented "House shopping is fun..." The potential trade that would move Rodgers from the Packers is reportedly being delayed by the question of whether he plans to continue his career.
If Barrington's report holds true, the Raiders seem to be confident that Rodgers will continue playing and that his career will be based in Las Vegas.
