As announced this past week, the Panthers have decided to bench their 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young, following their 0-2 start. Now, veteran QB Andy Dalton has been announced as their new starter:
Dalton was drafted by the Bengals back in 2011 and spent the majority of his career with them, where he was named as a 3-time Pro Bowler.
The Bengals released Dalton ahead of the 2020 season, where he then jumped around to different teams, including the Bears.
In 2021, Dalton appeared in 8 games for the Bears, starting in 6 of them. He threw a total of 1,515 yards for 8 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
Dalton started in only 1 game last season, but is now the starter of the Panthers for the time being.
