Colin Kaepernick says he wants to get back in the NFL, is willing to be a backup
Even though former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has not taken a snap in the NFL in the past 6 years, he still is making headlines almost on a daily basis.
He was seen working out with Bears QB Justin Fields a few weeks ago. He then held a workout in front of scouts during the halftime of the University of Michigan's spring game last week.
Yesterday, he appeared on the I AM ATHLETE hosted by former Bears receiver Brandon Marshall.
Kaepernick said some very powerful stuff regarding his future on the podcast.
"I just need that opportunity to walk through the door. I know I have to find my way back in. So, if I have to come in as a backup, that's fine," Kaepernick told the guys.
"But that's not where I'm staying. And when I prove that I'm a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such. I just need that opportunity to walk through the door."
