"While the majority of the city of Chicago and Bears fans across the country want head coach John Fox to be handed a pink slip, one Bears fan favourite doesn't agree. Former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher recently appeared on Good Morning Football and made some surprising statements about Fox. "It's just exciting for me to watch. I haven't been excited about them in a couple years, but I'm excited now," Urlacher said on Monday. "I just hope they keep coach Fox around long enough to turn this thing around so he can see the fruits of his labor with this defense." Despite Fox having the worst winning percentage in team history at .273, Urlacher wants Fox and his defense to stick around. That defense isn't the only thing Urlacher is excited about. "I'm excited about the direction they are going, honestly. I know their record doesn't show that," he said. "Their defense is good, they've gotten better every single year. I like Mitchell Trubisky. I think they've just got him locked up right now, they aren't letting him do much. "Trubisky can run, he can throw. Hope he stays healthy. They've got to get him some receivers."As of right now, Urlacher is one of very few people to publicly say that Fox needs to keep his job.
