BREAKING: Washington has released their starting QB!!
Wentz, who is now 30 years old, commenced only seven games for the Commanders during 2022, managing a record of 2-5 with 1,755 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He was stripped of his starting position after fracturing his finger against the Chicago Bears on Oct. 13, and was replaced by Taylor Heinicke.
Washington obtained Wentz, along with a 2022 second-rounder and a 2022 seventh rounder, through a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. This exchange was made for a 2022 second-round pick, a 2022 third-round pick, and a conditional 2023 pick.
As a former Super Bowl Champion with the Philadelphia Eagles, Wentz has recorded 22,129 passing yards, 151 touchdowns, and 66 interceptions throughout his career with the Eagles, Colts, and Commanders. He was initially chosen as the second overall pick by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft.
