The New York Rangers have encountered an obstacle in their efforts to acquire Patrick Kane through a trade.
According to TSN's Chris Johnson, Patrick Kane is expected to be traded on the upcoming Friday trade deadline, which is only six days away. In the meantime, Kane will be absent from the lineup but will continue practicing at a local rink, as seen on his Twitter account this morning, where he posted a photo of himself lacing up his skates for the first time in four days.
Chris also mentioned that the New York Rangers are hurrying to complete a deal to clear cap space to afford Kane, but it's just a matter of time before the trade is finalized and Kane becomes a Ranger.
"It's not a matter of if but when Patrick Kane becomes a New York Ranger. They've agreed on the deal but are still sorting out the finances," he said.
Although the trade may be disappointing for Blackhawks fans, we must prioritize Kane's happiness and respect his decision. Kane has spent sixteen years, soon to be seventeen, with the Chicago Blackhawks, building a reputation as one of the greatest American-born NHL players of all time.
