BREAKING: Pittsburgh Steelers Owner Has Died
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a prominent member of their family yesterday. Indeed, part owner John Rooney, brother of Dan Rooney, passed away.
John Rooney and his twin, Pat, were the brothers of late Steelers chairman Dan Rooney and the uncle of team president Art Rooney II. He was 83. John Rooney split time living in Palm Beach, Fla., and suburban Philadelphia.
After Art Rooney Sr. died in 1988, the five Rooney brothers � Dan, Art Jr., John, Patrick, and Timothy � owned a 16% share of the team, with the other 20% owned by the McGinley family.
