Jalen Ramsey Concerned About Derwin James' Head Injury Following Violent Hit That Got Him Ejected vs. Colts
Derwin James was ejected during the second quarter of the Los Angeles Chargers' game with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night for one of the hardest hits in recent memory. James drilled Colts receiver Ashton Dulin, on a pass to the flat and got called for unnecessary roughness for a vicious hit that appeared to be helmet-to-helmet.
The Chargers won, 20-3, to clinch their first appearance in the NFL Playoffs since 2018 as their star safety watched the second half from the bench.
Dulin didn't take too long to get up but gestured and shook his head as he walked towards the sideline. The fourth-year wide receiver had to be looked at by team staff after the hit but could walk off on his own.
James, a fifth-year strong safety, also had to be looked at by team staff after the play as the defender led with his helmet on the hit. He was brought to the Chargers' medical tent for further evaluation.
