BREAKING: One of the best cornerbacks in the NFL just got cut!!!

The Philadelphia Eagles have released cornerback Darius Slay after just three seasons with the team. Indeed, the Eagles and Slay could not work out a restructured contract and he will be a free agent today at 4 pm.

The move comes as a bit of a surprise, given that Slay is a three-time Pro Bowler who had been one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL prior to joining the Eagles.

Slay was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Detroit Lions in March of 2020, and was expected to provide a significant upgrade to a secondary that had been one of the weakest units on the team the previous season. He was a pivotal part in the Eagles NFC championship run last season.

He will receive a lot of attention from multiple teams in the free agency market.
