"After being tendered by the Chicago Bears, restricted free agent Cameron Meredith ended up signing an offer sheet with the New Orleans Saints. The news was reported by Adam Schefter who pointed out the Saints currently have former Bears WR coach Curtis Johnson as their wide receiver coach and that he's very familiar with Meredith. The Bears had have five days to decide whether or not to match the Saints offer, some expected a quick decision after the Bears matched Kyle Fuller's offer sheet within 24 hours. However, the Bears took their time with Meredith and waited until the last hours to make a decision. Some fans will be disappointed to hear that the Bears will not be matching Meredith's offer sheet with the Saints.
There's some questions regarding Meredith's health after a torn ACL, that it looks like the Bears weren't willing to take that risk on. Meredith's deal is worth $9.6million over two years according to Ian Rapoport and will feature $5.4million.Cameron Meredith is now officially a member of the New Orleans Saints.
