Bears writer lays out his ideal strategy for the Bears offseason
As we speak, the Chicago Bears are not on pace to be a premier contender next season. However, if they have a perfect off-season, this could change. They have so many different options in front of them in order to establish a solid roster for next august. Bears insider and writer Jacob Infante wrote his ideal strategy for Ryan Poles in the next few weeks.
First of all, he thinks that most of the available receivers on the market are going to be overpaid. Keep in mind that almost all of the "superstar" receivers are no longer available because they re-signed with their team. He says the Bears should attack the receiving core mostly thru the draft. In the Khalil Mack's trade, the Bears obtained an additional second-round pick. This year's draft also happens to be absolutely loaded in talent.
Infante also wants the Bears to spend a lot of money on the offensive line. There are a lot of great offensive linemen in free agency this year. They could sign 2 and maybe even 3 starting-quality players in the trenches. If they are able to do just that, there is a possible scenario where Ryan Poles could even select a wide receiver with his two first picks in the draft. This could be very interesting...
