Sportico, eat your words, the valuation of the Chicago Bears has gone up in recent months despite Sportico's early valuation of 5 billion. The Bears' most recent valuation sits us as the 5th most valuable NFL team at 5.8 billion. The number also represents a 42 percent increase from last year's valuation. Other teams to see this increase were the Bills, Raiders, and Browns.
«The Bears are the lone NFL team in the country's third-largest market, a big attraction for a wealthy buyer looking to break into the league. In addition, the Bears are moving toward getting either a new stadium in suburban Arlington Heights or a renovation of Soldier Field. Both scenarios would add a lot of money to the team's coffers.»
With the Broncos selling for 4.65 billion and rumblings over the Mccaskeys selling ever-growing, it stands to reason that they simply might be waiting on the right number to pull the trigger.
Would they wait until Eberflus's rebuild is complete and maybe sell off a potential dynasty at its most valuable? Or are the McCaskey's simply playing the long game with the city increasing its value until Lightfoot is forced to give in to what the team wants? Either way, I'm sure the circus will continue for now.
