Bears Reinstate Young Safety to Practice Squad
The Chicago Bears have re-added safety A.J. Thomas to their practice squad this Friday. Thomas initially secured a spot on the 53-man roster but was released to make room for Quindell Johnson, a safety recently claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams. After passing through waivers unclaimed, Thomas rejoined the Bears, this time on the practice squad.
Last season, as an undrafted rookie, Thomas participated in five games for the Bears, starting in two of them. He marked his NFL debut in a Week 13 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, accumulating a total of four tackles over his five-game stint.
