Bears offseason programs starting today
Ladies and gentlemen, the time for real offseason programs and workouts has started!
The Chicago Bears are one of four teams with new coaches that begin their offseason programs today. This is a privilege reserved for teams that have a new head coach. The league has implemented this rule in order for these certain teams to have more time to get acclimated to the new coaching staff. The bears currently have only 57 players on their roster. While the workouts are on a voluntary basis, we expect a pretty good number of players to be there and officially meet HC Matt Eberflus for the first time!
Coach Flus mentioned in an interview with ESPN that he'd been preparing for April 4 and to deliver his message of «setting the standard of how we operate» for a while now.
Two weeks from now, the Bears have a non-mandatory minicamp right before the draft April 19-21 as well.
