Bears GM Ryan Poles Reveals why he Stuck with Justin Fields & Traded the 1 Pick
During a phone call interview with Rich Eisen, Bears' GM Ryan Poles revealed why he decided to give Fields another chance, as well as why he traded away their #1 overall draft pick in the 2023 draft.
After being asked about why he stuck with Fields, Poles replied with:
"I was really encouraged on the way Justin (Fields) played, in terms of making plays, and I am excited to see him take that next step as a passer"
Poles was then asked about his decision in trading the #1 overall pick, and Poles answered by explaining that former Panthers WR DJ Moore was someone that they wanted on their team, as he will make for a great WR having Fields as a QB.
Moore is one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL, and during his 5 years with the Panthers, his talent went overlooked. Now, he will be able to shine as a Bear.
Poles is excited for the season, and tells Eisen that Fields and Moore have amazing chemistry.
